DMOS COMIDE

  • Educational and training projects

DMOS-COMIDE is the Belgian NGO of the Salesians and the Sisters of Don Bosco. In three important regions of the South (Africa, South America and India) DMOS-COMIDE helps battle poverty through educational and training projects.

  • Underprivileged population groups

In line with the tradition of both religious congregations, DMOS-COMIDE focuses on underprivileged population groups, in particular youth. The partners in the South are active in schools offering vocational training, youth centres or shelters for street children. They organise training courses for agricultural communities and women’s groups, and study to ensure proper management of the projects in which they are involved.

  • Five essential development targets

Thanks to the support of the Belgian government, the European Union and many private sponsors, DMOS-COMIDE is able to provide support to the partners in the South, with a view to the achievement of five essential development targets:providing better access to training and education for underprivileged youngsters and population groupsimproving the quality of the education offeredintensifying support in gaining access to and on the local labour marketenhancing integration of the development projects into the local contextimproving the management skills of partners and employees

  • DMOS-COMIDE in Belgium

As is tradition, DMOS-COMIDE organises, in cooperation with another Belgian NGO Broederlijk Delen, an annual Lent campaign in order to make all Don Bosco students aware of the North-South issues. In addition, we organise immersion journeys for Belgian schools and send out volunteers to Salesian projects in the South.
