Salezjański Wolontariat Misyjny – Młodzi Światu (the Salesian Missionary Voluntary Service - Youth for the World, short name SWM) is a non - governmental, non for profit organization created in 1997. It is the first salesian organization in Poland that bands together young people who want to work for the common benefit of the missions. For the first 2 years acting as a missionary group, in 1999 was registered as an association, currently operates in 3 main cities of Poland with the headquarter in Krakow.

The main aim of the SWM and his members is to assure active support for people, especially young ones, living in the poorest regions of the world. We are implementing this through supporting the missions, sending volunteers and setting up infrastructural projects developing local societies. More than 220 of our volunteers have been working in 16 countries of the world and the number is constantly growing.

In Poland our activities are focused on implementing educational programmes for children and youth, to acquaint polish youth with the development issues, global problems, sustainable development and Millennium Development Goals. Our work very often is dedicated also to teachers, leaders and people directly involved in work with young people who can influence on the educational process of youth in the daily work at schools. Currently the main tool for implementing development education programmes is a Global Development Park created in the centre of Krakow.

As one of the main organizations in the country focused on the global development issues, we are also involved in the advocacy work on the national level, being an active member of the polish NGDOs platform – Zagranica Group.
